Long Weekend, Scrapbooking and I Won Candy! Yippee!

Well, for all of us here in the USA, it's our long 3 day Memorial Day Weekend which officially starts off the summer. Take a moment to honor and remember all the Service men and women who serve, have served and died for our country. My husband and my brother both served our country as well as my two of my uncles and one cousin. My daughter's boyfriend is in the Marines and we have several very close friends who are serving. Hi to Patrick in Iraq, CJ in China, Darrius in Japan and Kevin in California! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Thanks for all you do!

I don't have any new projects to share with you tonight, but I have been scrapbooking all evening! I've got to finish my daughter's scrapbook....two weeks to graduation. I'm feeling the pressure of getting it done. I'll post some photos tomorrow :-)

I'm so excited!! I won a new stamp set from My Favorite Things! I love the stamp set I just purchased last weekend and can't wait to play with the cupcake stamps I won!!

My parents are celebrating their 44th Wedding Anniversary on Monday and I plan to make them a card. I will get that posted when I finish the card.

I'll be posting some exciting blog candy next week...so stay tuned!

Good Friends.. Good Times...

I made a few cards on Saturday evening. Had 3 of my stamping gals over and we all made cards.
I purchased this stampset on Saturday from My Favorite Things. I LOVE It!!!

I made the card on SU Bravo Burgandy Cardstocl.
The DP is from Basic Grey- Sultry line.
I paper pieced the ladies dresses from DP also from Basic Grey.

The Sentiment is stamped on a clear transparency and then adhered to the card with the brads.

I used dimensionals to place the awning on top of the Cafe window to give it a 3-D affect.

Really like how this card turned out.

Thanks for looking!

My Try at Faux Stitching...

I made this card tonight and tried the Faux Stitching technique. I think it turned out pretty good for my first try!
I LOVE this image.. I got it from Kelly from our Swap Images and it's a High Hopes Image.

The Faux Stitching was done with my paper piecer and a white Signo Gel Pen. Very easy!

I used SU Cardstock and DP and colored the image with my Prismacolor Pencils.

Thanks for looking!

A Little Sneak Peek.....

This is for my SBS-15 Sistah's!! I colored two of the swap images today and made two cards... I love how they turned out!
Girls.. The images that everyone sent are wonderful...and we're going to have so much fun with them.

Today, was National Scrapbooking Day and I'm sad to say I didn't make a scrapbook page. I was too busy getting all the swap images sorted and ready for the post on Monday. Of course after sorting through them I was in the mood to make cards!

Top Card:
Cardstock: SU Choc Chip, Pretty In Pink, Purely Pomegranate and DP from My Minds Eye.
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, Ranger Distress Ink, Prismacolor Pencils and OMS. Prima Flower and Brad.

Bottom Card:
Cardstock: SU Only Orange, DP-Basic Grey- Color Me Silly
Ranger Distress Ink, Eyelets from Joann's; Prismacolor Pencils and OMS. Ticket Punch from SU.

I made 3 additional cards today and I'm sure I'll be sharing more tomorrow. I hope to get some more Mother's Day Cards finished tomorrow as well. Hope everyone had a wonderful day!

Thanks for stopping by!
